LONDON, April 24 (RIA Novosti) - State-owned oil company Rosneft plans to double daily oil production to 3 million barrels by 2015, the company's president said.
"We plan in the next 10 years to increase daily oil production, which currently stands at 1.5 million barrels, to two million barrels by 2010 and to three million barrels daily by 2015," Sergei Bogdanchikov said.
He added that the company planned to become a world leader in terms of oil production, economic indicators and capitalization.
Bogdanchikov said oil production would be increased after the company developed new deposits and raised production at its current deposits. The company will start developing the Vankorsk deposit in Siberia's Krasnoyarsk Territory, and increase output under the Sakhalin-I energy project in the Far East and the Verkhnechonsk deposit in East Siberia by 2010.
By 2015, the Rosneft president said production would increase with the development of the Azov Sea shelf and the far-eastern Sakhalin-III, Sakhalin-IV, Sakhalin-V, and two other oil fields in the region.
Bogdanchikov added that the company also planned to maintain the level of crude exports volume at 80-85% in the medium term.
