KRASNOYARSK, May 12 (RIA Novosti) - Kamaz (RTS: KMAZ) could hold an initial public offering on a Western stock exchange, a deputy economics minister said Friday.
Kirill Androsov said the Economic Development and Trade Ministry was "waiting for proposals from Kamaz and investment consultants regarding possible ways of privatizing the company's [34.01%] state-held share package."
"[Kamaz and investment consultants] are talking about [an IPO on a Western exchange] seriously," he said, adding that no specific timeframe had been set.
Androsov said Kamaz could also issue an additional number of shares, which would result in the reduction of the state-held stake in Russia's largest truck maker.
