GROZNY, Chechnya, May 20 (RIA Novosti) - A soldier was killed in a shooting accident early Saturday morning in Grozny, the capital of troubled Chechnya in the North Caucasus, a regional law-enforcement agency source said.
The soldier - a police driver from the Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous Area in central West Siberia - managed to shoot himself in the chest as a result of careless handling of a weapon, and died on the way to hospital, the source said.
"An internal investigation is underway into the incident," the source said.
