June 4 (RIA Novosti) - Five police officers have been injured in separate blasts in the troubled Republic of Chechnya in Russia's North Caucasus, the local law-enforcement bodies said Sunday.

Three police officers were wounded in a roadside bomb explosion near the village of Meskety in the mountains of the Nozhai-Yurt district in southern Chechnya, the law-enforcement authorities said. The injured officers received necessary medical aid.

Another police officer and an investigator sustained wounds in two explosions near the village of Gikalo in the Grozny district of Chechnya.
