MOSCOW, June 16 (RIA Novosti) - Oil production in Russia in January-April 2006 rose 2.2% year-on-year to 155.6 million metric tons (9.5 million bbl/d) and exports fell 0.3% to 81.2 million tons (5 million bbl/d), the country's top statistics body said Friday.
The State Statistics Service said 39.3 million tons (289 million barrels) had been produced in April 2006, a 3.2% increase on April 2005, but a 2.4% decrease on March 2006. Oil exports in April were 19.9 million tons (146.3 million bbl), or 4.3% less than in April 2005, and 7.7% down on March 2006.
Oil sales on the domestic market for the first four months of 2006 grew by 8.2%, to reach 71 million tons (521.9 million bbl). In April 2006, sales exceeded last April's figures by 12.2% to reach 18.3 million tons (134.5 million bbl), and were up on the March 2006 figures by 1.3%.
The share of oil in the overall volume of Russia's exports in January-April 2006 was 34.8%. In Jan.-Apr. 2005 the figure was 32%.
The average actual export oil price in April was $418.1 per metric ton, or 9.2% higher than in March 2006. Urals oil price was $475.2 per ton (12.5% more than in March).
