ALMATY, June 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived Friday in Almaty for a summit dedicated to boosting trust in Asia.
The second summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia opens on Saturday.
Later on Friday, Putin will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
He is also scheduled to meet with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, and hold negotiations with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
On June 18, the Russian and Kazakh presidents will visit the Baikonur space center where they will watch the launch of a Kazakh satellite piggybacked into orbit by a Russian carrier rocket.
