TYUMEN, June 26 (RIA Novosti) - Representatives of the United Kingdom's business community will arrive in Siberia's mineral-rich region of Tyumen Monday to study opportunities for cooperation, a project coordinator at the British consulate said.
"The U.K. Trade and Investment Department has organized a visit to Tyumen and Khanty-Mansiisk by a delegation from British companies June 26-28," Yekaterina Dolgova said. "Designed to step up cooperation, the tour will include visits to local companies, institutions, organizations and presentations."
The delegation comprises members of companies producing energy sector equipment, including Thales, Sulzer, Alderley and others.
Britain's BP concern has been working for a long time in the vast Tyumen Region and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area in West Siberia, as well as in East Siberia and central Russia, including as part of a joint venture with Russian oil company TNK since 2003.
