Double murder suspect caught in Moscow after over decade on run

MOSCOW, June 30 (RIA Novosti) - A man suspected of killing his former boss and his secretary has been arrested in Moscow after more than a decade on the run, the city's interior department said Friday.

Vladimir Khutsishvili, suspected of killing his boss, a high-ranking banker, spent eleven years in self-imposed exile hiding from prosecution and returned to Moscow this week only to wind up in police custody.

Investigators say they have collected enough evidence to prove Khutsishvili's involvement in the premeditated killing of Ivan Kivelidi, the board chairman of privately owned Rosbiznesbank.

Kivelidi died in August 1995 from acute poisoning, which forensic specialists say was the result of exposure to a powerful toxic substance put on a telephone receiver in his office. His secretary died a few days later, presumably of the same cause.

Khutsishvili, who served as a deputy to Kivelidi, is currently being interrogated. Investigators believe he covered the receiver with the lethal substance.
