MOSCOW, July 10 (RIA Novosti) - Russia expects the Iraqi government to take urgent measures to bring to justice the murderers of five Russian diplomats killed in Baghdad in June, Russia's foreign minister said Monday.
One embassy employee was shot June 3 in an attack on a car. Four others were abducted and executed by an al-Qaeda linked group.
Sergei Lavrov met with an Iraqi presidential envoy who conveyed a message from President Jalal Talabani to Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressing condolences over the murder of the five Russians.
Lavrov said that Russia expected the Iraqi government to take urgent action to punish the culprits, find the Russians' bodies and ensure that no such incidents occurred in the future.
