Arms cache found in Kabardino-Balkaria

MOSCOW, August 27 (RIA Novosti) - Police have found a cache full of ammunition in the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria in Russia's troubled North Caucasus region, a local law-enforcement source said Sunday.

The police found the cache in a forest on the edge of the republic's capital of Nalchik, the source said.

"The cache contained two F-1 grenades, 16 5.45mm cartridges and two home-made explosives," the source said.

The police destroyed the ammunition on the spot. An investigation is under way, the source said.
