Russia's Prosecutor General's office said Saturday it had been re-admitted into the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP).
MOSCOW, September 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Prosecutor General's office said Saturday it had been re-admitted into the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP).

The IAP is a non-governmental and non-political organization established in June 1995 at the United Nations offices in Vienna to strengthen international co-operation between prosecutors in the fight against transnational crime, particularly drug trafficking, money laundering and fraud.

"Russia's Prosecutor General's office has not participated in the work of this international association for more than five years, which had a negative effect on contacts between Russian prosecutors and their foreign colleagues," the office said in a statement.

The IAP currently comprises individual and organizational members from over 120 countries.
