MOSCOW, September 11 (RIA Novosti) - A memorial service for victims of international terrorism will be held Monday at the mission of the Orthodox Church in the United States to the Moscow Patriarchate.

On the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attack against the World Trade Center in New York, tribute will be paid in the St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church in the Russian capital to all innocent people who died at the hands of terrorists in the U.S., as well as in many other countries, said the Very Reverend Archimandrite Zacchaeus (Wood), the head of the mission.

He said a memorial service has been conducted every year since 3,000 people died in attacks on Washington and New York on September 11, 2001. But until now, it was only dedicated to victims of the tragedy in New York and was delivered in English.

He said this year prayers would also be said for the souls of those killed by terrorists in the 2004 Beslan school massacre and in attacks in other Russian cities, as well as in Spain, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Turkey and the Middle East.

The service will be conducted in English and Old Church Slavonic. Ambassadors from a number of countries, including the U.S., U.K., Greece and Israel will attend.
