Arrested Russian servicemen in Tbilisi handed over to OSCE
Topic: Russia-Georgia spying row
The Russians were led to an OSCE car that will take them to the airport.
Before the handover, a Georgian prosecutor read out the following statement:
"You, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Savva, Major Dmitry Kazantsev, Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Zavgorodny, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Baranov - have been charged with espionage against Georgia... You are being deported from the country, and will from today be banned from entering Georgia's territory."
Russia has suspended transport and postal links with Georgia. It has withdrawn most of its diplomats and families from the country since the arrests of its military servicemen last week.
Five Russian servicemen were detained in Georgia September 27. One of them was later released, and the remaining four charged with espionage and remanded in custody for two months.
Russia said the servicemen's detention and charges against them were a provocation.
