Russia to hold air defense exercise with ex-Soviet partners

Russia and other post-Soviet countries will hold a joint military exercise next week to enhance coordination of their air defense operations, the Russian Air Force commander said Wednesday.

MOSCOW, October 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russia and other post-Soviet countries will hold a joint military exercise next week to enhance coordination of their air defense operations, the Russian Air Force commander said Wednesday.

Vladimir Mikhailov said the exercise, scheduled for October 19, will bring together Air Force units from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, and that about 100 aircraft will be involved.
