MOSCOW, November 7 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will supply 55 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Ukraine in 2007, fully meeting its gas needs, energy giant Gazprom said Tuesday.

"The volume of gas that must be delivered to Ukraine is known, it is a minimum of 55 billion cu m," Gazprom Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev said. "This volume will meet Ukraine's minimal needs, while extra deliveries must be covered by separate agreements,"

RosUkrEnergo, the sole supplier of Russian and Central Asian gas to Ukraine since the start of 2006, signed a deal in late October with UkrGazEnergo, the trader's joint venture with Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz, by which at least 55 billion cubic meters of gas from Central Asia will be supplied to the country in 2007 at $130 per 1,000 cubic meters.
