"Sergei Lavrov's upcoming meetings will focus on the Middle East, primarily the Arab-Israeli settlement," ministry spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said.
The Russian minister will meet with his Egyptian counterpart, Ahmed Abul-Gheit, and will also be received by President Hosni Mubarak, the country's ambassador to Russia, Izaat Saad el-Sayed, said.
"This will be the second meeting aimed at boosting the Russia-Egypt strategic partnership dialogue, which began in October 2005," he said.
"We hope to discuss the current situation in the Middle East, including in Palestinian-administered territories, prospects for the formation of a national unity government in the Palestinian Authority, and ways to help that government once it is in place," el-Sayed said.
Developments in Lebanon, Iran and Iraq will also be high on the agenda, he added.
