MOSCOW, December 18 (RIA Novosti) - Five people have died and another six have been injured in a road accident in Russia's North Caucasus Republic of Dagestan, the Emergency Situations Ministry said Monday.
The accident occurred at 8:20 p.m. Moscow time (5:20 p.m. GMT) Sunday near the city of Izberbash, when a BMW car collided with a bus traveling from the Dagestani capital of Makhachkala. The bus overturned and caught fire, the ministry said.
The victims of the crash have been taken to the Izberbash hospital with injuries of varying degrees, the ministry said.
An investigation is under way, the statement said.
