One Russian diver dead, two others missing in Egypt
Bashir Malsagov confirmed over the phone the death of a Russian diver near the resort city of Dahab. According to him, the diver died during submersion with an aqualung Saturday.
According to preliminary information, the dead Russian was an experienced scuba diver.
The search for two more Russian divers, a man and a woman, continues in the area of the resort of Marsa Alam, the consul said.
"There were three divers [in that area]. One of them escaped and said they had been frightened by sharks in the submersion area and started to get away from that place. One diver was found on the shore in a state of shock while the other two have not yet been found," the consul said.
Relevant Egyptian services are looking for the Russians, the consul said, adding that the search is complicated by poor weather.
