BANGALORE (India), January 23 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will not supply armaments to Palestine, a Russian Defense Ministry top official said Tuesday.
"In connection with a worsening of the domestic political situation in Palestine, Russia will abstain from delivering any armaments or military hardware to the Palestinian Authority," Col.-Gen. Anatoly Mazurkevich told journalists in Bangalore, where he is visiting as part of a Russian delegation led by Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov.
Earlier, the Palestinian National Authority asked Russia to supply it with two helicopters and up to 50 armored personnel carriers without armaments for police-related tasks, Mazurkevich said.
Mazurkevich said Russia will not even consider the issue of light armament and ammunition deliveries to the PNA.
