Chinese citizen killed in road accident in Russia's northwest

VELIKY NOVGOROD, January 28 (RIA Novosti) - A Chinese citizen has died in a head-on collision between a car and a truck on a highway in the Novgorod Region in Russia's northwest, the local traffic police said Sunday.
The accident occurred Saturday at about 8:30 p.m. Moscow time (5:30 p.m. GMT) on the 505th kilometer of the Moscow-St. Petersburg federal road, when a Lexus car with Moscow number plates strayed into the opposite lane and collided with a truck, the traffic police said.
As a result of the collision, a 35-year-old passenger, a citizen of China, died from injuries at the scene while the 42-year-old car driver was hospitalized. No one was hurt in the truck, the traffic police said.
An investigation is under way, the traffic police said.
