MOSCOW, February 8 (RIA Novosti) - Prosecutors are investigating a contract-style murder of an ethnic Abkhazian in downtown Moscow early Thursday, a source in the city prosecutor's office said.
"Prosecutors in central Moscow opened an inquiry into the [fatal] attack on a 52-year-old owner of several commercial firms," the official said.
The ethnic Abkhazian from a breakaway republic in Georgia was attacked at 1:00 a.m. Moscow time (10:00 p.m. Wednesday GMT) in a lane off the famous Stary Arbat street.
He was shot from two Kalashnikovs and died on the spot. Prosecutors found 10 bullet casings and an automatic rifle with a silencer at the site.
