ESSEN, February 9 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's finance minister will meet with his counterparts from the Group of Eight leading industrialized nations in the west-central German city of Essen this weekend, both in bilateral and unilateral formats.

A source in the Russian delegation said Alexei Kudrin will attend a G8 ministerial session Friday and Saturday, and will also hold one-on-one meetings with German Finance Minister Peer Steinbrueck, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson and the head of the International Monetary Fund, Rodrigo Rato.

According to the source, Kudrin's discussions with Stuenbrueck will focus on Germany's agenda as the current G8 president, while measures against money laundering and financing of terrorism will dominate his meeting with Paulson.

Talks with Rato will be built around IMF reform and a planned review of the fund's quota distribution scheme across member countries.

Kudrin may also have bilateral meetings with his Japanese and Italian counterparts, the source said.

The Russian minister will deliver a keynote speech on money laundering and financing of terrorism, two of the most prominent issues on the forthcoming G8 session's agenda, which also includes the diversification of stock markets and energy security from the perspective of climate change.
