PETROPAVLOVSK KAMCHATSKY (Russia's Far East), March 2 (RIA Novosti) - Three teenagers have been arrested in the central city of the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East on suspicion of firing air weapons at public transport, local police said Friday.

Petropavlovsk saw a rise in attacks against passenger vehicles involving air guns in February. No one has been injured. Dozens of attacks were reported in the city in mid-November, when bus operators complained of damage to vehicles as they had to replace shattered windows and make repairs to their fleet.

"We already have enough evidence to prove one of the attacks," police said, adding that the teenagers aged between 15-16 years had used an air pistol bought "on the street" with money stolen from their parents.

Police said the investigation would continue and added other groups of teenagers could also have "played those dangerous games".
