VLADIVOSTOK, March 9 (RIA Novosti) - An underground earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck the Primorye Territory in Russia's Far East Friday, but most residents did not feel it, the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk seismic station said Friday.
The station's spokesman said the quake hit at 6:24 a.m. Moscow time (3:24 a.m. GMT).
The geophysical service at the Russian Academy of Sciences said the epicenter was about 440 kilometers below the surface, and that as a result it was barely noticeable to local inhabitants.
