MOSCOW, May 25 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow is concerned over the course of an investigation into the murder of a Russian national during protests in Tallinn on April 27, the Foreign Ministry's official spokesman said Friday.
The victim, Dmitry Ganin, was stabbed during mass protests that swept Estonia's capital over the removal of a Soviet-era monument in central Tallinn on April 26-28. Hundreds of people were detained and dozens injured during clashes with police.
"Despite repeated requests from the Russian Embassy to Estonia and the lawyer of the victim's mother, the Estonian authorities have so far refused to share investigation materials [with Russia]," spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said.
Kamynin said his ministry had urged for an objective investigation into the murder of Ganin as soon as possible, and punishment for those responsible.
Although Estonian police detained two people on May 11 suspected of killing the Russian citizen, no murder charges have yet been brought.
