Newborn found in bag on Moscow street

MOSCOW, May 29 (RIA Novosti) - A newborn boy was found by a passerby on a Moscow street Tuesday, a police spokesman said.

"A man walking by spotted a suspicious bag on the sidewalk, and looking inside found a little boy asleep," the spokesman said.

The infant, who appears to be no more than a day old, has been sent to a children's hospital, and police are searching for the mother who presumably abandoned her child, he added.
