Russia to demonstrate new MiG fighter at Le Bourget air show
Topic: Russia at Le Bourget air show
The MiG-29M OVT (Fulcrum F), a highly maneuverable air superiority fighter, was unveiled for the first time in August 2005 during the MAKS Air Show outside Moscow.
The single-seat fighter, which is also marketed for export as the MiG-35, is powered by RD-33 OVT thrust vectoring control engines. The RD-33 OVT engines provide superior maneuverability capability to the aircraft, enhancing its performance in close air-to-air engagements.
At the 2001 Paris International Air Show in Le Bourget, a Russian Su-30 Flanker and MiG/AT trainer were forced to make an early exit after French authorities tried to enforce a court ruling in favor of a Swiss trading company, Noga, which claimed the Russian government owed it almost $500 million.
As a result, mock-ups of Su-family military aircraft were displayed at the Farnborough International Air Show last year.
The Le Bourget Air Show will run from June 18 through 24.
