ST. PETERSBURG, August 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russia should produce 300 passenger airliners annually and double production of military aircraft by 2025, the Russian president said Saturday.

"It [the United Building Aircraft Corporation] has the task of producing annually 300 passenger airliners by 2025," Vladimir Putin said. "As for military aviation, we plan to double annual production."

Putin, who attended a session on the development of the aviation engines industry held in St. Petersburg, also signed a decree on the formation of an integrated structure within the framework of the state-owned Salyut aircraft engine designer and producer, which will work on the development of a new generation of aircraft engines.

The president also signed a decree on the transfer of shares of some helicopter production companies to Oboronprom united industrial corporation.

"We are currently completing preparations for the second stage of integration, which will allow us to form a united scientific-technical and production system in the helicopter production sector," Putin said.
