BEIJING, September 21 (RIA Novosti) - Rescuers have found a second survivor of a group of six Russians that went missing in northwest China almost three weeks ago, the Russian emergencies ministry said on Friday.
Three of the men, who were on a canoe trip down the Yurungkax River in a remote area of the Kunlun Mountains, were earlier found dead. The joint Russian-Chinese search operation for the last group member continues.
"Andrei Pautov, born in 1979, has been found alive. His health is satisfactory," a ministry spokesman said.
The rescued Russian, a Muscovite, was found by the ground search team.
A source in the rescue team announced earlier in the day that another group member, Alexander Zverev, had been found alive.
The three bodies discovered last Saturday and Sunday have been identified as Sergei Chernik and his son Ivan, and Vladimir Smetannikov. The search continues for the remaining member, Dmitry Tishchenko.
