SOCHI, September 23 (RIA Novosti) - Former French president Jacques Chirac and former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder have arrived in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi on private visits, the Kremlin said on Sunday.
The ex-leaders traveled to Russia on the invitation of President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin press office said.
Sochi is currently hosting the final day of the Sixth International Investment Forum, which started on September 20. The acting economics minister, German Gref, announced on Saturday that business contracts worth $22 billion had been signed at the event.
The forum has been focused on future investment in the development of Sochi's infrastructure up to 2020, and the construction of sports facilities in the city in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
