MOSCOW, October 7 (RIA Novosti) - Five people have died and one person has been injured in a head-on collision between two cars in the Samara Region in Russia's Volga area, a local police officer said Sunday.
The accident occurred Saturday when a UAZ vehicle moved onto the opposite lane and collided with a Volga car. The driver of the Volga and the four passengers in both cars died at the scene. The driver of the UAZ was hospitalized, the police officer said.
According to preliminary information, the driver of the UAZ vehicle was drunk, the police officer said.
In another road accident, five people were killed in a head-on collision between two cars in the Pskov region in northern Russia, a local police officer said.
