The 20th Russia-EU summit ended in Portugal on Friday with a host of announcements on energy and economic issues from both Russia and the European Union. 
Poland has agreed to grant Russian inspectors access to companies exporting meat to Russia, a Russian presidential aide said on Friday. 
Russia will only make a final decision on joining the World Trade Organization if admission terms are in accordance with its national interests, the Russian president said on Friday. 
Russian President Vladimir Putin compared on Friday U.S. missile defense system plans for Central Europe with the 1962 Cuban crisis. 
"During the meeting, stress was placed on the further consolidation of Europe's energy security... We agreed to continue work to establish an early warning mechanism in relation to deliveries and demand for energy from Russia to the EU," Putin told journalists after the EU-Russia summit in Portugal.
