Topic: Parliamentary elections in Russia
MOSCOW, October 28 (RIA Novosti) - Eleven parties will run for the State Duma, the lower house of Russia's parliament, on December 2, the Central Election Commission (CEC) said on Sunday.
The CEC completed on October 28 the registration of federal lists of candidates from political parties at the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
The ballot papers will include the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF), the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), United Russia, Just Russia, the Union of Right Forces, Yabloko, Patriots of Russia, the Democratic Party of Russia, Civil Force, the Agrarian Party of Russia and the Party of Social Justice, the Central Election Commission said.
At the same time, the CEC denied the Green Party, the Party of Peace and Unity and the People's Union registration for the parliamentary election as more than 5% of their electors' signatures turned out to be invalid.
