MOSCOW, December 11 (RIA Novosti) - Egypt's foreign minister will arrive in Moscow on December 13 for an official visit, Russia's foreign ministry spokesman said on Tuesday.

During his two-day visit, Ahmed Aboul Gheit is expected to meet with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, to discuss bilateral cooperation, Mikhail Kamynin said.

Russian-Egyptian trade rose threefold from 2003 to 2006 to $1.2 billion, Kamynin said, adding that in January-July 2007 the figure had reached $0.93 billion.

Egypt is also a popular tourist destination for Russians.

According to Egyptian Tourism Ministry data, in 2006, Russian tourists accounted for one million of the nine million tourists who visited Egypt.

Russian businesses, Kamynin added, were showing an increased interest in entering the Egyptian market, "where Russian products, mostly machinery and technique, are well-known and popular."
