MOSCOW, March 23 (RIA Novosti) - Police seized over 9 kg of heroin from a Tajik national in the Irkutsk Region in East Siberia, a local police source said on Sunday.

"The Tajik national, who is officially unemployed, was detained on a highway in the Irkutsk district. The police found more than 9.6 kg of heroin in his Zhiguli car," the source said.

An investigation is under way to track down the drugs route, the source said.
