ROSTOV-ON-DON/MAKHACHKALA, March 27 (RIA Novosti) - Three militants have been killed in a security sweep in the Republic of Daghestan in Russia's troubled North Caucasus region, the special operation's headquarters said on Thursday.
Special units of the Daghestan security service and interior ministry surrounded a five-storey apartment block where a group of militants were holed up in a second floor flat late on Wednesday in the town of Daghestanskiye Ogni. One militant continues to put up resistance, the headquarters said.
No information has been released on causalities among the troops.
