MOSCOW, March 28 (RIA Novosti) - Military Transport Aviation and Airborne Troops exercises are to be held simultaneously in four Russian regions on Friday, an Air Force spokesman said.

"During the tactical flight training, over 20 Il-76 [Candid four-engined strategic airlifter] military transport aircraft will carry out airdrops in the Ivanovo, Ryazan, Pskov and Volgograd regions," Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky said.

Drobyshevsky also said about 2,500 Airborne Troops and more than 10 pieces of military hardware would be dropped. "During the exercises, the pilots will practice crew procedures while carrying out landing operations in unknown terrain at low altitudes," he said.
