MOSCOW, April 23 (RIA Novosti) - Deputy prime ministers of the Eurasian Economic Community (Eurasec), a grouping of ex-Soviet countries, will meet in Moscow on Wednesday to discuss establishing a customs union.
On the meeting's agenda are more than 30 cooperation issues, including application of information technology in customs control, and cooperation between customs services of member states.
The Russian delegation will be led by Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Naryshkin.
Eurasec's members are Russia, Belarus, and four Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine have observer status.
Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan have so far signed a total of 13 documents outlining the legal basis for a Customs Union as agreed in Dushanbe, Tajikistan in October 2007.
