NAZRAN, August 1 (RIA Novosti) - One member of Russia's security forces was killed and another injured Friday in a shootout in the North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia, local investigators said.
The Interior Ministry troops were carrying out a dawn raid on a house in Malgobek when they came under fire from four attackers. Investigators are on the scene and the building has been surrounded.
The wounded serviceman has been hospitalized.
Security forces in Ingushetia, which borders the restive southern Russian republic of Chechnya, are frequently involved in firefights with criminal gangs.
