NAZRAN, September 17 (RIA Novosti) - Four servicemen have been reported dead following an attack by militants on an army off-road vehicle in the south Russian republic of Ingushetia, a local law enforcement source said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the town of Galashki. "Unknown individuals attacked the UAZ vehicle. According to preliminary information, four servicemen were killed," the source said.
Ingushetia, which borders on Chechnya, saw a sharp increase in assaults on law enforcement and military personnel during the first eight months of 2008.
