MOSCOW, October 3 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian man who was found guilty of brutally killing a kitten in Moscow has been sentenced to six months of community work, prosecutors said on Friday.

Andrei Chudilov, 33, was drunk when he beat and then threw the three-month-old kitten to its death from the fourth floor of an apartment building.

The incident occurred in July this year. Chudilov said he felt regret for his actions.

In March 2008, a man in Berlin was sentenced to seven months in jail for killing his ex-girlfriend's favorite cat by throwing the animal from the balcony of his fifth-floor apartment.
