ORENBURG, October 17 (RIA Novosti) - A total of 48 teenagers and one teacher at a school in the Orenburg Region, in Russia's Urals, have been hospitalized with suspected food poisoning, local investigators said on Friday.
Eight of the children are in a "moderate" condition with a suspected stomach infection, a senior aide for the region's top investigator said. All the school pupils who have been hospitalized are aged between 14 and 17.
Health officials are conducting an investigation into the cause of the infection.
In late September, 29 cadets from a military school in the city of Minusinsk in East Siberia's Krasnoyarsk Territory were hospitalized with a stomach infection.
