Police official's home in S. Russia comes under grenade attack
"At about 2:30 a.m. (22:30 GMT), unidentified gunmen fired automatic weapons and grenade launchers at the home of a police official in the village of Inarki, Malgobek district," the ministry said. "No one was injured or killed."
Ingushetia has seen a rise in violence in recent months linked to separatists in neighboring Checnhya and internal power struggles.
A military convoy was attacked with automatic firearms and grenade launchers on Saturday, when several Russian servicemen were killed, according to official reports.
Assailants also launched a grenade at the home of the chief doctor of the central hospital in the Sunzha district on Friday, severely damaging the house, but wounding or killing no one.
The Russia-based human rights group, the Moscow Helsinki Group, said in late September that the republic was on the verge of civil war as fighting between militants and authorities intensified. It also accused federal authorities of torture and abductions.
