Man arrested with 9.5 kg of heroin in north Moscow

MOSCOW, October 21 (RIA Novosti) - Police have detained a foreigner with more than 9.5 kg (21 lbs) of heroin in northern Moscow, a law enforcement spokesman said on Tuesday.
The drugs were seized from an unemployed man from Tajikistan following a search of his car.
Investigators are looking into the man's means of supply and sale and his involvement with criminal groups.
According to the Russian Interior Ministry, police have made 12 drug seizures in 10 Russian regions over the last 24 hours, totaling some 15 kg of heroin, 1.15 kg of cannabis resin and 1 kg of marijuana.
