Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will launch his own website next year containing news and information on the life of the premier, Russia's official newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta said on Wednesday.
MOSCOW, October 29 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will launch his own website next year containing news and information on the life of the premier, Russia's official newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta said on Wednesday.

"The website will contain a full archive of Putin's speeches at government sessions, statements made during working visits, and opening addresses. The website will also provide interesting articles about Vladimir Putin," the newspaper said.

A government source told the newspaper, however, that the website will only contain details on Putin since he took over the premier's post in May 2008, and not when he was Russian president.

Web specialists started work on the new Internet portal in early July and are designing a system to protect the site from hacker attacks. The portal will differ from the Russian president's website www.kremlin.ru, which contains Dmitry Medvedev's official video blog.

One of the features of Putin's website will be a timeline with a news ticker and interactive map displaying where the premier is working, the Russian regions and countries he will visit and the agenda for his trips. The website is due to be launched at the beginning of 2009.

Currently, Internet users can find information on Putin through the official government website www.government.ru. The government press service is also expected to use the website to post additional information about the Russian premier.
