Over 29 tons of drugs seized in Russia in Jan.-Sept.

MOSCOW, October 29 (RIA Novosti) - Over 29 metric tons of drugs were seized in Russia in the first nine months of 2008, the Federal Drug Control Service said in a report on Wednesday.
The figure includes 1.2 metric tons of heroin, 254 kg of opium, 11.7 metric tons of marijuana and over 100 kg of synthetic drugs.
A total of 741 foreign nationals from 19 countries were detained for drug-related crimes during the period.
