MOSCOW, November 3 (RIA Novosti) - Around 10,000 people stood outside the U.S. embassy in the pouring Moscow rain as part of a Halloween-themed protest organized by the pro-Kremlin Nashi youth group against U.S. foreign policy.

Peaceful demonstrators, some of them dressed in Halloween costumes, held Jack-o-lanterns with the names of people allegedly killed in U.S.-instigated attacks.

The organization's press secretary Kristina Potupchik said prior to the meeting, "American policies, America's elections with a budget of $5 billion, McCain's rating and the global financial crisis - thousands of lives are paying for all these American amusements."

She said that the symbol of Halloween represented the grief of victims of U.S. political games. "We are asking the world to think how many more lives are we prepared to sacrifice for this American show."

The demonstrators left nearly 10,000 candles and pumpkins outside the embassy in central Moscow at the end of the rally, which lasted about half an hour.

Nashi (Ours), founded in March 2005, has been involved in a number of high-profile activities, including a recent blockade of Estonia's embassy in Moscow and protests against the former British ambassador, Tony Brenton.
