
ORENBURG, November 28 (RIA Novosti) - Drug police have seized 13.3 kilograms (29.3 lbs) of heroin in the Orenburg Region of Russia's Urals, a spokesman said on Friday.
A total of 11 packages of heroin were found during a search of a car belonging to a resident of the town of Sorochinsk, the spokesman for the Russian Drug Control Service said.
"The driver of the car has been detained," he added.
A further 4.9 kilograms (10.8 lbs) of heroin were found in his house. "The total amount of drugs seized from the suspect was 13.3 kilograms," he said.
The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison. An investigation is underway.
