MOSCOW, January 12 (RIA Novosti) - A 19-year-old man in central Russia's Nizhny Novgorod Region has been arrested on charges of murdering his grandparents after they refused to give him money to feed his addiction to slot machines.
National media said on Monday that the suspect had killed and then stolen over $1,000 from his grandparents, both in their late 70s.
Investigators say that the man had frequented arcades "for a number of years."
The killings took place on January 1, when the man went to his grandparents' house to ask for money. After they refused, he picked up an iron bar and dealt them both several blows to the head and the body. They died from their wounds.
Police say the accused has admitted his guilt.
