MOSCOW, April 13 (RIA Novosti) - Three Moscow police officers have been sacked for driving on Red Square in the Russian capital, while drunk, a law enforcement spokesman said on Monday.
Viktor Biryukov said that all of the officers, who had been discharged, were sergeants.
"Three uniformed off-duty police officers drove onto Red Square in a vehicle and conducted themselves in a manner which tarnished the reputation of the police. As a result all three were detained... Medical analysis indicated that all three were in an intoxicated state," the source said.
Red Square is heavily guarded and only vehicles with special permits are allowed to enter the area.
